I absolutely love entertaining and this year Pete and I are hosting a New Years Eve party. I’m getting really excited about setting the scene, creating signature cocktails and feasting with all my friends.

Yesterday I shared my top 5 tips for festive entertaining with Reverie Magazine’s blog. Head on over to read about my ideas and pick up some tips of your own for the perfect party, whether it’s Christmas Eve drinks, Boxing day brunch or a full on shindig to welcome in 2013.

Are you all still with me or has everyone tuned out for Christmas already?! Drop me a comment if you are hosting a party this festive season and let me know your plans…

  1. Still with you!

We’re hosting christmas eve at our place (for the last thirty years my mum’s hosted the whole family from Christmas eve through to almost NYE), and for the first time linking both mine and Mr G’s families for Christmas… Kind of testing the water to see how it’ll go for when we have to do it for “real” on Christmas day! Christmas eve has always been kind of a big deal, as for my mum’s side of the family it’s their “proper” christmas. There’s so much going on with a soup competition (!!!) cocktails, games, a big meal and presents. So i’m aiming to keep some traditions alive but also hoping to create a new tradition this year…. We’ll see! It could flop and next year it could all be back to normal!

Also having a Roaring Twenties NYE party Chez Moi this year too. I suspect by the new year I’ll well and truly have the “I want to be the hostess with the mostest” bug out of my system! 🙂

  2. Still here too!
Victoria, your Christmas Eve sounds fab. I would love to host NYE but we live to far away from our group. This NYE we have our 4 year old niece so I think a little party is in order!

  3. Also still here!! Would have loved to host a NYE party but boo sucks, all my closest friends are working! (stupid NHS!) So I’ll be going back up north to a party hosted by one of my closest university friends. Jealous of all of you with your glamorous do’s to plan!

  4. Still here too! Albeit slightly frazzled!!

I’m hosting Christmas lunch for my side of hte family which includes a 3 week old and a nearly 3 year old! Going for a rough luxe theme, hessian tablecloth and gold crackers and accents, hope I can pull it off!! Your new years party sounds fab – I love paperless post!
