The Fash Flash: Splish Splash

Before even the first day was done of my Capsule wardrobe for Autumn, I realised i had made a grave omission (for Manchester dwelling anyway.) No wet weather gear. For autumn walks they are a must but there was enough torrential rain last week to make me want to wear wells every day of the week so there is going to have to be an amendment! I’ve bought a waterproof coat (more on that soon) and am digging out my Hunters. In the meantime, here are a few I found for you guys to waterproof your wardrobes with…

Joules flower print // Dark silver Chelsea boot wells, New Look // Joules Dog print
Strap detail wellington boot, Ted Baker // Original slim zip wellington, Hunter // Studded biker wellies, New Look
SeaSalt tideline Wellies // Hunter Tall stripe wellington boot // SeaSalt Yellow deck wellies

There are styles here for fun, city dwellers and pretty prints – all the bases are covered.

Are you a welly wearer?

  1. I am a definite welly wearer, I think that my Hunters are perhaps the most comfortable footwear I own! Especially when you add the fleecy socks into the mix! At the time of purchase, I thought that the high gloss pillar box red were the best thing I’d ever seen, and whilst I still adore them, I have to say that now we are ‘proper’ grown ups (with a dog and everything!) I do feel a bit conspicuous in them! They were brilliant for festivals, but I feel like my next pair may be in the trad. green or navy so as to fit in better with my dog-walking companions (although I would still go for high gloss – got to have a bit of glam!)

  2. Would love to hear what you’ve chosen with regards to a waterproof coat – I really need one but the nicest seem to be very expensive and I’m loathe to spend loads on something that I wouldn’t normally choose to wear…!

  3. I’ve got hunter wellies and absolutely love them. My husband even wears his to his work (he’s a web designer so he can get a way with that sort of thing).

  4. Love my Wellies. I have two pairs of Hunters, a khaki green pair with a stripy inside (they were a festival limited edition) and a pair of black gloss ones too. I had to buy the adjustable ones though as apparently my calves are too thick for the regular ones. This is my one gripe with them, I don’t even have fat calves, but the normal ones squeeze my legs.
