Found: Online love…

Before we get going I wanted to announce the winners of The Surf Cafe Cookbook! We had 2 books to give away and using the entries that won were numbers 6 and 52. Congratulations to…

Jenny @ Bake

I’ll be sending emails out to you this morning to confirm and request your addresses for the publishers to send out the book directly. If you didn’t win, you can still purchase the book here.

Nope, this is not a post about online dating, or worse! Today I thought I would give a shout out to some of my favourite online magazines as I haven’t mentioned them in a while. And my excuse for the brevity of this mornings post is that I am giving you not one, but five magazines to read, all British and basically enough online reading material to keep your eyes away from anything that resembles real work for the entire day. Not that I would ever condone such behaviour.

Should you however need a little distraction… here’s the links πŸ™‚

Have you found any new reads here today?

Saturday Survey

Happy weekend everybody!

I’m having a relaxed one and hopefully spending some QT with Pete. We went to a wedding last night and now I’m nursing a bit of a sore head with a long to-do list to get started on! Later on my Mum and step-Dad are coming over – we’re treating them to dinner at Alberts for his birthday, then tomorrow I’m cooking Fish Pie for Mother’s Day and my sister is coming over.

This week it’s just one question for you, but first, five things from me to you πŸ™‚

Five things…

Kurt Geiger Ltd.

The new Dashing magazine is out!

A little sneak peek of my dining room make-over coming up on the blog next week…

And speaking of sneaky peeks, last month I shared a favourite corner in my home on Getting it Swoonworthy. It’s an antique scandanavian cupboard which I use to display my accessories, and you can peep inside it here.

My new nail crush? Neon and nude. Get it here from Nails Inc

Saturday Survey.
There’s really only one question on my mind this week, and it seems appropriate given that it’s Mothers Day tomorrow.

I’d like to know where you are in terms of having a family?

Are you…

  • Not in a relationship
  • In a relationship but not married
  • Married without kids
  • Thinking about starting a family
  • Already a parent

I hope it’s not too personal a question…

What are you doing and what did you get your Mum for Mother’s day?

Saturday Survey…

Happy weekend folks!

I’ve decided I need to get to know you guys a little better and as a result I’m going to run a little series of mini surveys here on the blog over each weekend until…. well until I found out enough I guess!

In return, I’ll post a selection of things I’m loving around the web this weekend, like a little treat for completing the Survey. πŸ™‚ All you have to do is copy and paste the text of my five questions into the comments box and fill in your reply.

I can’t tell you how grateful I will be and hopefully you will all reap the benefits by me learning how I can improve the blog for you in the coming months.

Five Things…

Dashing Magazine is out now – put your feet up and have a read this weekend, it is only their second edition but you wouldn’t know it – it’s a joy to browse.

Want more pretty? Have you seen the new Mulberry SS12 ad campaign? Giant ice creams, Brighton Beach and pastel shades. Super sweet.

I’ve been focusing on interiors after last weeks Kitchen renovation and fell in love with this image by Elise Blaha fromΒ Look out for the post that it inspired next week.

A little behind the scenes styling video, sneak previewing the H&M spring summer collections – If you like your fashion affordable you can’t do much better…

Bangles seem to be everywhere this year and I’m loving the shades from Banana Republic.

Now it’s your turn…

Five Questions
1.How did you find Florence Finds?
2.How often do you visit Florence Finds?
3.What is the most common time of day for you to visit?
4.If you had to choose one area of the blog (i.e. menu bar categories… home, fashion etc,) which is your favourite?
5.(The hard one) – How would you describe Florence Finds in one sentence?

Just copy and paste these five questions into the comments box and add your responses. Thanks so much in advance!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Found: Dashing Magazine…

Billed as an inspirational magazine for the stylish and spirited girl, Dashing Magazine launched last Friday. In the spirit of sharing things I have found and LOVE, I just had to make sure those of you outside the wedding industry and of course my lovely readers, knew about this beautifully put together online magazine.

Jointly edited by Charley Beard of London Bride, Josie Hendricks of Savoir Weddings and Fanni Williams of FuBuMedia, the content spans fashion, interiors, crafty DIY features, events and styling with a couple of more thoughtful editorial pieces thrown in by writer extraordinaire Emma Woodhouse and Wedding blogger Anna, of Anna and The Ring.

The design is beautiful and exactly up my street, clean as a whistle but with splashes of colour all over it, great use of typography and a well accented layout. There’s a wedding section too naturally, given that all three editors have an interest in the wedding industry, featuring real weddings and styling tips.

My favourite bits?

Without doubt, the breath-taking examples of illustrator Cate Parr‘s work, (which you can see introduced above.)
The Downloadable Christmas card – perfect for your most stylish girlfriends.
The edited ‘finds’ including Etsy sellers, and the Dashing team’s favourite spots this month.

As an inaugural special issue, I for one certainly can’t wait to see the next one! Do let me know if you have already seen and loved it, or are just discovering Dashing?

Congratulations Dashing!
