Spotted: Astley Clarke Galaxy

I’ve long been a fan of Astley Clarke‘s edited collection of designer jewellery, encompassing everything from classic diamonds to modern gemstones. I was particularly excited when Astley Clarke launched their own in-house designed collections, including a range of stacking rings. The breadth of designs has gone from strength to strength reaching nigh-on perfect this season with some new additions. Pave set amethyst, moonstone, blue and smokey quartz add just the right amount of sparkle to contrast with the luxe enamel pieces in all the seasons hottest pastels and glossy cabochons. At between £50 and £200 you can easily start a collection and build upon it at birthdays and occasions.

And just how beautiful are the star shower rings? (Pictured above in duck egg blue and midnight.) I’m head over heels in love…

Head on over to Astley Clarke to build your own stacking collection and lust over the pretty right now.

Put a ring on it…

There’s a particular trend I’ve been seeing a lot of that I have just fallen in love with lately, super thin gold rings. I think I first saw it on Charley over at London Bride (super stylish lady that she is!) and slowly slowly, they’re cropping up everywhere. Whether it’s a few of them stacked on one finger, the thinnest band on every finger, twisted or embellished with cute cut outs, I just think they’re super cute.

After deciding I needed some in my life, I thought I’d round up some options for you whether it’s a quick fashion fix or you want to splurge.

Velo love Bike pink gold ring, MirendaJewelry on Etsy // Tiny heart twisted gold ring – SecretCharm on Etsy // Open heart ring, Moodichic on Etsy // Thin gemstone rings, Artem Mikaeilyn on Etsy // Micropave diamond band TulaJewelry on Etsy

Rose Gold and Diamond small bunny ring, Hillier from Astley Clarke // Heart and LOVE rings, triple diamond teeny ring, all Marian Maurer at Astley Clarke // Nugget ring, Natasha Collins at Astley Clarke // Diamond Star ring, Astley Clarke Muse

So have I set your hearts all a-flutter? Let me know if you’re head over heels for these delicate beauties…

Friday Frock O’clock: The NYE Edition

It’s that time again – whatever your feelings about New Year’s Eve, it’s fast approaching and that often means a what-to-wear dilemma. So this week’s Friday frock, is not a frock. Gasp!

I thought this week I would share New Year’s eve outfit (if we can blag a table somewhere, as we have left things somewhat later than usual…) and I’ve had my eye on this Ted Baker jumpsuit for a while.

Jumpsuit: Ted Baker £100, Clutch: Ted Baker £99, Bow heels: Ted Baker £67, Earrings: £260 Astley Clarke

As it’s not just any night, (do I sound like an M&S advert?) and this isn’t just any frock, I thought I’d go the whole hog and create the whole outfit. Not usually one for putting a whole look together in one shop (no-one wants to look like the mannequin in the window after all) I did however fall hard for the rose gold tinted bow peep toes, that would glam up any outfit from here on in. That and the (note the theme) rose gold envelope clutch add a suitably sparkly touch on the accessories front. With a neckline like this, I’d always opt for some fabulous chandelier earrings and these by Miguel Ases from Astley Clarke would do nicely. I like that they tone but don’t match and sparkle without being gaudy.

Now Cinderella just needs a ball to go to!

I hope you all have a wonderful night tomorrow and if you haven’t already shared in this morning’s post, do leave a comment and let me know what you’ll be doing, and of course, what you’ll be wearing.

See you in 2012!

My Christmas…

Good morning readers!

So, how was it? I feel like I’ve been away for ages and I’m dying to have a good catch up with my girlfriends! That has to be a good sign that I’m enjoying Florence Finds.

I couldn’t kick us off into the post-Christmas/pre-New Year lull without sharing some of the lovely gifts I received this year and I’m hoping that you’ll be wanting to share one or two (or maybe the whole list like me!) of yours?

  • From Pete… the Monica Vinader Green Gold Quartz earrings –
  • It’s not quite the Macbook from my fantasy gift list 😉 but I’m loving getting to grips with my new Apple Magic trackpad mouse – I’m a sucker for new technology!
  • I was so excited to receive the Laura Mercier Illuminator I mentioned in my beauty gift guide, but it’s so pretty I don’t want to spoil it by using it!
  • I don’t normally get cleaning products for Christmas, but this was a stocking filler from Pete as I love my other e-cloths and he completely wrecked slightly damaged mine during the decorating… e-cloth + painting = upset Rebecca.
  • M&S biscuit tin
  • Now my hair has gone back to being short and sassy (read completely unsalvageable with a bobble on rainy days,) I needed a rain hat and think I’m going to look very Inspector Gadget in this trilby from Ted Baker
  • GAP socks, always.
  • Another hat which I asked for, a classic bobble, although mine is pink, of course. Accessorize Bobble hat
  • My genius Mum found me a handbag hook… Accessorize handbag hook.
  • Burning in my office right now? A Jo Malone fig and cassis candle
  • For perfect at-home manicures, Leighton Denny Miracle drops – watch out for a DIY coming up on this soon.
  • My favourite winter moisturiser… Origins Have a Nice Day spf15 face cream
  • Super thrilled with this one (after buying no less than 3 as gifts for other people!)Design*Sponge at Home book
  • And another great present – I totally missed out on Downton Series 1 and now I can catch up… did you see the Christmas special?!

Of course it wasn’t all about gifts, I had a wonderful few days at my home for Christmas Day, lots of lovely food and drink 😉 rest and relaxation and a bit of sale shopping already… more of that to come soon!

Share your favourite gifts by leaving a comment in the box… as always I can’t wait to hear what you’ve received!

Lots of ‘welcome back’ love,

Florence’s Fantasy Gift List…

Before we move onto something serious this afternoon (and totally at odds with this tongue in cheek collection of lust-worthy and shamelessly material must-haves,) I thought it would be fun to put together a no holds barred, money-no-object list of ‘I wants’ and then I’d like to hear yours.

It’s always lovely to be treated to something you couldn’t normally splurge on, or perhaps treat yourself to something for a special occasion, but as my father-in-law says (and I don’t always necessarily agree with,) ‘the fun’s in the looking’, and boy did I have fun creating this list 😉

Feast your eyes ladies 🙂

  • The penguin hardback classics are popping up everywhere with their quirky cloth bound covers but it’s the The F Scott Fitzgerald collection I’m lusting after, with the deco foil designs in metallic shades to glam up my book case.
  • Monica Vinader is a recent obsession of mine, particularly the faceted slices of semi-precious stones she uses for lobe candy – (from Astley Clarke.)
  • It wouldn’t be a Christmas list without a design classic and for my new office, how about this corian and walnut desk from The Conran Shop. Its stylish lines would surely provoke constant inspiration?
  • I’m already thinking of spring and pastels will be a big trend, so have a finger party with a stack of candy coloured bands and nuggets of pretty stones from Astley Clarke, made with the Stacking ring creator. (Spend over £100 on stacking rings and get a £25 gift – Enter RING25 at the checkout.)
  • There’s nothing more luxurious than shearling and this jacket is super soft, a stylish shade and insanely warm. Liora Mid-grey shearling jacket, Reiss.
  • For the (techy) love of my life, this beautiful iPad sleeve by Mulberry. Only the best for my baby 😉
  • To make life with Florence Finds even easier, a Macbook Pro would be a practical but stylish addition to my stocking please Santa, for swift on-the-move editing and lots of Skype face time conversations with everyone from Gemma, to Laura in Canada and my sister in Birmingham.
  • And the Red onion haircalf quilted Bayswater. Need I say more? A steal at £1,924.

Just to humour me, and because I know no-body wants to be in work anymore, drop a comment into the box below and leave me your fantasy festive wish list for some fun on the countdown to the holidays 🙂

Weekend Webwalk

This weekend I wanted to share a little something that I felt strongly about and I’d really like you all to get involved in. For a while now, I’ve been an avid reader of Emerald Street, the daily emails that pop into my inbox set up by the sister brand Stylist magazine. Now if you read Stylist, you’ll know exactly how good these emails are going to be, or maybe you already know about Emerald Street, but if not, consider it a mini blog post to cheer you up every morning with a variety of tidbits, just like Florence Finds) ranging from fashion to food and everything in between – now where have I heard that before?! As if I needed an excuse to introduce you to Emerald Street, now I have an even better one…

This Christmas, Emerald Street has teamed up with Look Good Feel Better, a charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of women with cancer. By teaming up with people in the beauty industry they offer make-overs addressing all the problems a Cancer patient has from dry or lack-lustre skin to hair loss, including filling in brows or trying wigs.

From now until Christmas, we’ll donate £1 for every person who signs up to our emails…We’re hoping to raise £20,000 in the next three weeks, but we can’t do it without you.

As someone with direct personal and professional experience of women who are affected by cancer, I have seen what a devastating effect it can have. Often women even say that the reality of their illness doesn’t hit home and really bring them down until their appearance is affected, reminding them every time they look in the mirror and meaning they can no longer hide it from the world. I can only guess what a blow it must be to a womans self confidence and esteem at an already hugely distressing time in their lives.

So, if you don’t already subscribe to Emerald Street, click here and sign up. I wouldn’t recommend it just for charities sake, but you can do this small thing and feel good that you’ve helped someone who might be having a difficult Christmas, now or in the future. Thank you.

Decorating this weekend?
On a lighter note… as I know some of you will still be putting up your Christmas tree’s and decorations, don’t forget my plea for your Real Christmas decor pictures. It can be your tree, mantlepiece, table top, anything, just send in a couple of pictures and I’ll slot them in with the inspiration posts I’m preparing for the next couple of weeks. (Send them into
