September Shape Up.

It’s not the usual time of year for it, but because of the promise of a new season, new clothes and a bit of serendipity too, I’m ready to make some effort finally to get into shape.

I’ve got more to wrote about post natal fitness and losing weight but for now as it’s the first and we have a month before our holiday and I am dying to buy new clothes but have promised myself I won’t before I lose the last bit of weight I want to, I’m setting myself some challenges. I’m keeping it simple and making it achievable and because it’s only a month, hopefully it can be measured by the end of the month before Ive forgotten about it.

I wondered if any of you would like to join me? It doesn’t have to be a fitness goal. Maybe you need to shape up your filing cabinet, wardrobe, garden shed, living room, your CV or diet. Write it down int he comments and give yourself 30 days to accomplish it. Maybe you need a treat as a reward too 😉

My goal is to…

~ Do some aerobic exercise 3 times a week
~ Do some floor stomach exercises every other day

    I have been doing and would definitely recommend Kayla Itsines #bbg workout. Look her up on Instagram. Lots of mum have done it, I need consistency if my results are going to be anything like them.
    So my goals are:
    – do my workouts 3 times a week
    – eat healthy and cut out sugar and sweets
    – clean my crafting desk and do some crafting

  2. This is well timed for me. I am making a renewed effort to lose some weight. I dropped 1 and a half stone last year, I kept it off for a while but it’s crept back on in the last few months (reckon I’ve gained half a stone). I don’t want to gain anymore so I’m upping my exercise and cutting down the calories. Hopefully I’ll have lost it by the end of the month. Good luck with your regime Rebecca, i think it helps if you know other people are going through something similar. 🙂 x

  3. Ooooooo this has come just in time……. I may have over indulged somewhat over the summer holidays and am a bit cross that I have put on more weight than I wanted to. So my goals are….

    – lose weight I put on over the holidays
    – start training properly for the half marathon I intend to do in November
    – try and cut out sugary treats Monday – Friday (I can’t let go of my fruit twist croissant on a Saturday morning)

As I’m breastfeeding I can’t really diet but i am eating an unhealthy amount of sugary food at the moment, because lots of mt catch ups with friends and other mums involves coffee and cake, and because with a New baby it’s easier to grab a biscuit than prepare fruit. So I’m going to make it my goal for this month to prepare healthy snacks the night before, when my baby is in bed, so that I don’t reach for the sugary treats so much during the day. I did my first proper post natal work out on sunday (davina DVD) and it just about killed me! Hopefully I can fit in a few more workouts while baby sleeps this month x

  5. I’m in exactly the same position as you Rebecca, trying to lose the last bit of baby weight and generally want to get fitter. I might be just making excuses but I’m finding it so difficult as I’m still breastfeeding my 1 year old and she is still waking through the night. I’m back to work full time and feel shattered in the evening. By the time I get my two girls to bed and do ironing, cleaning and work for school (I’m a teacher), I don’t have the energy or time for exercise. Anyway, my goal is to make time to look after myself a bit more and I also want to follow the Kayla Itsines workout at least three times a week.

    • Have you thought about getting a cleaner Elaine? Best money I spend. Ours comes for 2h a week and although not everything is spotless – she could do with more time for our house really – it means I don’t need to do anything other than periodic deep cleans or daily floor wiping after feeding B etc. Frees up my time and no arguments about who cleaned or feeling like the house is gross!
