Friday Frock O’clock

Leather shift dress £120 Oasis

After this weeks leather lust, I thought it was only appropriate for Friday Frock to be a little bit on the wild side. For a few seasons now, along with my eternal quest for a perfect leather skirt, I have quite fancied a leather dress. I like the idea that it could be multi-functional – with a jumper layered over, you’ve already got yourself a skirt, or with a shirt layered underneath perhaps it would be work-appropriate. From that angle, it’s also a cost effective purchase and I can easily see it on a night out.

On the other hand, leather has eternal sexual connotations. Is a leather dress a little bit too eighties wild child or power dressing man eater? How do you get the balance right?

I’d love to hear what you think readers. I chose this dress because I felt the price was right and I liked the cut and V neck style, but I don’t know if I’ll be brave enough to make this purchase…

Happy weekend – it’s our last one before the move so expect lots of packing snaps in Instagram!

  1. Look at the blog by Anna Lou Elliott. She loves leather and seems to make it work appropriate. Can’t say I’m a fan of this tho!

  2. I definitely think you could manage this in a business casual office setting. As long as you don’t wear too high of heels and keep the rest of your accessories conservative!

The style in the photo you posted definitely isn’t too suggestive so I say go for it.
