Friday Frock O’clock

This week’s frock is another recent purchase and you might be sensing my obsession with wines, burgundies and deep red tones recently. Couple that with an ongoing love affair that I have with bird designs and this beautifully cut dress didn’t sit on the rail long as I passed it!

*Warehouse Silk Bird Print dress – £65

I bought it on a recent 25% off day at Warehouse but I think the pretty sleeves, eyelet back with tiny buttons and wrap over detail make it well worth splashing out on. I have worn it to work already with opaques and my cape(!) but could just as easily edge it up with my new boots or wear it to a dinner date in party heels. The only thing is, being silk it’s a wee bit chilly and I might have to look for a slip to wear underneath. Now I sound like a Grandma!

So, let’s while away the last few hours of the working week (man, am I in need of a drink tonight!) by sharing your recent frock purchases or lust-after items. I’ll even cheat and let you post something other than a frock because I’m feeling excited about the weekend!

PS Don’t forget, there’s a bonus post tomorrow for my weekend visitors!

  1. This is by FAR my favourite Friday frock. Gorgeous. Please can we have a post on bird prints? I’ve got my eye out for something and haven’t found the right item yet (would have been this if I hadn’t just bought an awesome burgundy dress from Topshop the other week!)

  2. I’ve just bought these jeans^language:undefined^currencySymbol:undefined^preferredUrl:undefined^viewed:true^explicit:false
They are my first pair of ‘coloured’ jeans! Going to be wearing them next Saturday with a black lace top (with a vest underneath!) and black heels. Gorgeous frock! This may have to go on my Christmas wish list!

  3. Hello ladies! I really want to go out tonight just so I can wear this dress – it’s super flattering. might have to just wear it on the sofa or make up an excuse to go out 😉
Hope you like the cape Anna – thanks for the link Marlene 🙂

Brids prints on the list Penny! xo

  4. To follow in the bird print theme… I have recently bought this little beauty from French Connection:

and I MAY have splashed out on this from LK Bennett for a winter wedding that I’m going to in a couple of weeks… not 100% sure though, any feedback would be fabulous 🙂

    Happy Friday! xoxo

  5. Gorgeous dress!! I have a slight obsession with bird prints too, so excited that bird prints is on the list for future posts!! – Thanks Penny! (Seriously, since I became a “Wren” when I got married 2 years ago, anything remotely bird-like and I’m there…) not sure I could carry of the beautiful burgundy colour though?? Definitely think you should go out tonight for a drink Rebecca, sounds like you deserve one and it would be a crime to keep such a beautiful dress indoors on a Friday night….. xx

  6. How funny, I’ve just tweeted about my delivery of dresses today. I saw a great discount off the already bargainous Peacocks and went for it. Three cute frocks for £55, can’t be bad. I can’t post the links easily from my phone but check their website…even at full price they are a steal!

  7. Katie – I love that l k benett dress very victoria Beckham.

And Rebecca I am loving the burgundy…tights, scarves, skirts, blouses, hats, you name it I need it!

And I also need that glass of wine to celebrate the weeked! Hurrah!

  8. Gorgeous dress, am also a big fan of the bird print. Found out last night I have to go to a black tie work do on Monday evening and obviously have nothing to wear! 😉 Emergency trip to Westfield today I think. After this week’s posts have a feeling a few other ‘essential’ items may be finding their way home with me!! xx

  9. Bought the bird print dress for a wedding that I’m off to this weekend in Newcastle- also bought some T-bar shoes in a burgandy colour (was going with the 40s theme!) Having a dilemma though about what tights to wear – would burgandy opaque tights be too much?? Flesh coloured tights could make the dress look too summery?? Or do I ditch the burgandy shoes and go for black opaque tights and black shoes instead? All help appreciated!
