So, I’ve been talking a lot about neon fashion lately. First the Fash Flash a little while back, then I got all excited about neon skirts. Today I’m sharing probably one of my favourite looks so far,and what do you know, it’s neon!
Shirt, French Connection // Shorts, Reiss (old) // Bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs // Wedges, ALDO // Sunglasses and Bangle, Banana Republic
Clearly it’s a holiday look, and massively helped by the weather and slight tan. I totally fell for this longer back silk shirt from French Connection (Shhhh! It’s in the sale!) a while back and figured it would be perfect for holidays. It’s cool and comfortable but obviously has a touch of fashion about it in the colour.
I’m not going to lie, Neon is a hard cookie to crack and I think I like it best with neutrals. It depends on the neutral of course and in this case I think it went particularly well with my city shorts. (Yup, they’re the same pair I wore all around Yosemite – that’s double duty dressing for you!) A bit of height from the wedges stopped my legs looking too short and of course, I had to wear my neon edged Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.
Looking back at the photos I love the whole look. Summer in the city eat your heart out. Not feeling so brave? Whack on a whopping great pair of sunglasses
Tempted?
love,
Rebecca

Oh Rebecca stop with the neon please… It reminds me, & tempts me to return to the neon lace Anthropologie skirt, in the sale, that I resisted…. Great photographs too.
NEON LACE….I need neon lace…. NEED…

Penny, did you see all the neon lace skirts the other day? I actually went out and bought a cheap Topshop dress that I’m thinking I’ll cut down into a skirt…
Rachel, was it this one?

Rebecca after you tweeted that neon lace Topshop dress, I spotted it in the sale in Tall (perfect for me) for £20 and snapped it up! I love it but need an occasion or perhaps a holiday to wear it. My husband says I look like a flashing beacon in it

Ha! I wore mine in my bedroom that night (as you do,) and when I get too close to our white walls it makes them glow! :/
That’s a lovely one. The one I’d seen was more green/yellow neon pleated. It’s not on the website. Think I may wait to see if it’s reduced anymore.
I’ve seen one with a white backdrop and yellow (neon) lace… it was £39 I think?
Nooo…been on hols…off to find the post!

In the absence of a “like” button, I shall do this:
LIKE!!!!
Love this look, and also, in a non pervy way, Rebecca I think you look really pretty with your hair pulled back like that.
Aw thanks Gem
Gorgeous shirt, Rebecca. Just lovely. Love the fabric, the cut and – dare I say it – the colour! You’re one of a few that can pull off neon, but I love the way you’ve toned it down with neutrals. Really nice. Do they do the shirt in any ‘durgey’ colours?!
They do it in a coral/orange/red colour. not really durgy!

Not sure if it’s in the sale – mine had gone down to about £30 quid in the shop but they’re not reduced online?
Oooh! Thanks for that Rebecca! The coral is yummy and I think (if I splash out and get it!) a quick dunk in a tea bath would take the edge off the colour….
Absolutely love this look Rebecca – you look gorgeous!!
Have just invested in a neon yellow too too – plan on wearing it with dark denim ankle grazers and tan wedges/bag for my birthday this weekend
xoxo
I really love it think it could work really well with some skinnies and amazing heels with cocktails and the girls too xx
