It’s white hot out there folks and as a result I’m going a little left field. Not a frock today but my favourite alternative, the playsuit…
Jacquard Playsuit – Warehouse, £40 (from £60)that Mango dress I posted? Well, I had my heart set on that floral number but it had sold out everywhere. I even resorted to looking online for a larger size to have altered and had my sister scouring Birmingham and Mum in Liverpool. Once I resigned myself to the fact it was gone, I had about a week to find something else and no time to do it in. I spotted this on the Warehouse website, walked into store and found it had been reduced that very day. Even better, it fit like a glove. Apologies for the indoor rubbish photo but I was having too much fun to get a proper one while we were out! 😉 (Jessica’s dress, entirely hen appropriate I thought, was from French Connection in case you’re wondering.)
Enjoy the sunshine this weekend readers – I’m off to Glasgow!
With the weather warming up and summer officially beginning today, it seems like an apt time to talk about my love for a little white dress.
L-R: Lemine £129 // Iris £47 // Pam £195 – All from Reiss
Before I got married I had a thing about white dresses. I loved them, but I always felt like people would think I was desperate to get married if I wore white. Looking back it seems really silly now, but as a result it was rare that I wore white. I’m naturally olive toned in the skin department and being dark haired, I think white works really well for me. The only thing I don’t love is the pesky marks you get on white clothes when you pair them with sunscreen. (Has anybody found a formulation that doesn’t do that?)
Rather aptly, as their sale started this week, Reiss has got some great white dresses. I’ll leave it to you guys to guess which is my absolute favourite but I have to say, I’d wear any of them in a flash this summer. 😉
Happy weekend readers!
The warmer weather towards the end of this week has really turned my attention towards cooler dressing and for the first time in a long time, I thought of a maxi dress. Once a style staple there seems to have been a bit of an absence of maxi’s in stores recently, or maybe I haven’t looked because I’ve been tired of them. Today I really wanted to find one that worked for stylish and casual occasions, perhaps even work. You know how I love a one-dress-does-it-all situation!
Reiss Athena Dress – £117 (down from £235)
Todays dress is from Reiss, in inky black and off white with a really unusual pattern, a not quite maxi, midi hem line and a really flattering silhouette. I love the slight rise and fall hem and it feels modern whilst also being classic enough for a formal occasion. It would work as easily at work with a blazer as at a summer function.
And if I was wearing it, I’d be feeling fierce, but also doing some obligatory twirling 😉
Big Friday Love,
