Triple Temptation: Boho kaftans

Good Morning readers! Sorry for the lack of posts – I’m having some camera trouble which has been getting in the way and Pete is on his official paternity leave so we are out and about enjoying Bea. I’m sure things will get back to normal soon. Bear with me!

Maybe with the recent change in weather I’m already feeling nostalgic for the end of summer, or perhaps I’m hoping for an Indian summer to spend with Bea and the earth mother in me is coming out, but right now I’m leaning towards a much more relaxed sartorial style. Floaty tops, bright embroidered touches, cool fabrics and comfortable shapes are what I’m coveting, so I’m looking for the perfect embroidered top to pair with shorts, sandals and sunglasses for summer style.

Monsoon £29.99 // Monsoon £22.50 (sale) // Zara £29.99

They double as beach wear and don’t have to be restricted to summer – the black detailing on the first choice above would transition well into Autumn to work the folksy seventies vibe that will continue to be a hit for AW14. They’re also super kind to a lingering mum-tum and work well layered with a vest for breast feeding.

What do you think readers? Would you wear a kaftan?

Love,
Rebecca

Friday Frock O’clock

Today’s frock is the first one I have been excited about in WEEKS and I’ll tell you why…

Midi Frill sleeve dress £40, ASOS.

Years ago, around the time I started University, I found a gorgeous dress in the Topshop Unique section for a bargain £40 (although that was a lot for me back than,) in the sale. It was teal and made of super light silk, with a v-neck and seventies style frill sleeves. The edge of the neckline was satin ribbon and one day whilst ironing it I just touched the ribbon and it shrivelled into nothing causing a hole in the front of the dress. I was devastated and it took me years more to part with it – always with the vain hope I would some how figure out a way to fix it.

This dress is so similar in style from the front and the shape is so flattering – highlighting your naturally slimmest part at the bottom of the ribcage. It also has the addition of a sexy key hole back and a lovely length. It’s elegant and thoroughly grown up, just what you need as a wardrobe staple. Team with killer heels and this one will take you from work drinks to the Christmas party and everywhere inbetween, I promise. And in a twist of fate, it is also £40!

Happy weekend readers. I have big news for you next week!

Love,
Rebecca
