With the weather warming up and summer officially beginning today, it seems like an apt time to talk about my love for a little white dress.
L-R: Lemine £129 // Iris £47 // Pam £195 – All from Reiss
Before I got married I had a thing about white dresses. I loved them, but I always felt like people would think I was desperate to get married if I wore white. Looking back it seems really silly now, but as a result it was rare that I wore white. I’m naturally olive toned in the skin department and being dark haired, I think white works really well for me. The only thing I don’t love is the pesky marks you get on white clothes when you pair them with sunscreen. (Has anybody found a formulation that doesn’t do that?)
Rather aptly, as their sale started this week, Reiss has got some great white dresses. I’ll leave it to you guys to guess which is my absolute favourite but I have to say, I’d wear any of them in a flash this summer.
Happy weekend readers!
It’s only 5 more sleeps to Halloween and in honour of one of my favourite celebrations (or should I say ‘frights’,) I just had to choose a Halloween appropriate frock.
Etta Dress, Reiss – £195
Those of you who follow Florence Finds on Facebook will have seen that I was originally thinking that todays frock would be black (of course,) and either lace and gothic or sparkly and vamp-ish. However, when I clapped eyes on this number all I could think of was the Wicked Witch of the West and the Emerald city. In Emerald green sequins and with a Navy tulle overlay this is the perfect halloween dress (red glitter shoes, green facepaint and a witches hat optional,) that will also work all through the party season.
This Friday, share your Halloween outfits (I’d love you to tweet me them @florencefinds, or on Instagram @Rebecca_Norris) and I’ll share them on Facebook, or show-and-tell your pumpkins and Halloween decor. Do you celebrate Halloween and what are you doing this year?
The warmer weather towards the end of this week has really turned my attention towards cooler dressing and for the first time in a long time, I thought of a maxi dress. Once a style staple there seems to have been a bit of an absence of maxi’s in stores recently, or maybe I haven’t looked because I’ve been tired of them. Today I really wanted to find one that worked for stylish and casual occasions, perhaps even work. You know how I love a one-dress-does-it-all situation!
Reiss Athena Dress – £117 (down from £235)
Todays dress is from Reiss, in inky black and off white with a really unusual pattern, a not quite maxi, midi hem line and a really flattering silhouette. I love the slight rise and fall hem and it feels modern whilst also being classic enough for a formal occasion. It would work as easily at work with a blazer as at a summer function.
And if I was wearing it, I’d be feeling fierce, but also doing some obligatory twirling
Big Friday Love,
