Spotted: Limited Collection Make Up

As much as I love a luxury cosmetic and tend to splurge on everyday items, sometimes I just want a quick fix with beauty. A season-appropriate nail shade, a new eye colour to try out, or a sought after everyday lip colour. And I can always have another lipgloss or balm… With this in mind I was a little bit over excited when I found the new Limited Collection make-up range in the beauty section at M&S recently.

You might have noticed the Owl eye palette that I chose as a Monday Must-Have recently was from Limited Collection, or perhaps your head was turned by the price – mine certainly was. I purchased a pink polish and nude lipgloss for £3.50 and £4.50 respectively and without any plastic induced guilt whatsoever. Always a bonus.

The packaging is sleek and minimal in transparent casing with white accents and the colours are suited to pretty much whatever you want them to be – there is everything from glitter pink, to understated nude when it comes to nails, plus a few fashion forward choices like emerald green and royal metallic blue, and the rest of the range embraces youthful trends with an undercurrent of M&S safe play – you won’t get pointed out and stared at for the wrong reasons in these colours. 🙂

In terms of quality, I found the polish a bit thin, requiring 3 coats, but it went on well and dried quickly. I absolutely love the gloss – it has a lovely texture, nice smell and builds from sheer and subtle to full on glossy lips.

Have you tried anything from the range? Go on, treat yourself 😉

Monday Must-Have: Limited Collection Owl Eye Palette

This mornings find is an absolute steal and manages to tick all the boxes, being both budget friendly, lovely enough to feel like a treat AND perfect for keeping you stylish. Tough call? Not for this eye palette from M&S Limited Collection.

Limited Collection Owl Eye Palette – Marks and Spencer

I always think about changing my cosmetic choices around this time of year, choosing warmer colours reflective of natures changing palette. I love golds, muddy greens and warm browns, all covered in this palette with a navy and black shade for creating smokey eyes. I love how cute this palette is too with little owls on the smart navy compact, (it would make a lovely present too, don’t you think?) and it will look as pretty on your dressing table or in your bag as the colours will on your lids. Everything you need for Autumn beauty for just £7.50.

PS! There’s 10% off until the end of today on ALL Marks and Spencer’s beauty products (not just M&S brands) and if you spend £15 you get a free travel skincare kit. Another reason to treat yourself!

What to Wear: Tribal

One of the big trends I haven’t really dabbled in so far this season is the tribal trend, mainly because I haven’t seen anything I really liked. That was until I spotted this skirt, in Marks and Spencer.

Skirt, Marks and Spencer Limited Collection // Tee, French Connection // Bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs // Necklace, Zara // Jelly ballet flats, Jimmy Choo (old)

Despite the fact that I don’t feature Marks and Spencer very much, that is mainly because of the online image quality, not because I’m not a staunch supporter of the brand. I wear M&S underwear, love their interiors products and buy several pieces from the Limited and Autograph collections every year. I think this summer has been a bit dry if I’m honest but when I popped in last week I left with three different clothing pieces and 2 sets of underwear. Very happy with myself indeed.

I can see how a skirt like this, all pattern and colour might scare some of you and I say, if in doubt team it with neutrals. I love fresh whites with brights like this – it just feel so summery and I actually wore this last Friday to work with a crisp white shirt (incidentally also an M&S Autograph purchase) with tan and yellow heels.

Of course, me being me, I had an abundance of brights to team it with, but kept the whole look grounded with a simple white T’shirt, tucked in to streamline the look. It dressed the smarter shape of the skirt down and then I picked out and complemented the bright palette with my coral neon edged straw bag and a yellow neon necklace. Perfect for shopping with my sister and an evening cocktail.

Incidentally, the print is also available in a dress if you’re looking for one. Will you be wearing tribal this summer?

Rebecca
