Monday Must-Have: Limited Collection Owl Eye Palette

This mornings find is an absolute steal and manages to tick all the boxes, being both budget friendly, lovely enough to feel like a treat AND perfect for keeping you stylish. Tough call? Not for this eye palette from M&S Limited Collection.

Limited Collection Owl Eye Palette – Marks and Spencer

I always think about changing my cosmetic choices around this time of year, choosing warmer colours reflective of natures changing palette. I love golds, muddy greens and warm browns, all covered in this palette with a navy and black shade for creating smokey eyes. I love how cute this palette is too with little owls on the smart navy compact, (it would make a lovely present too, don’t you think?) and it will look as pretty on your dressing table or in your bag as the colours will on your lids. Everything you need for Autumn beauty for just £7.50.

What to Wear: Tribal

One of the big trends I haven’t really dabbled in so far this season is the tribal trend, mainly because I haven’t seen anything I really liked. That was until I spotted this skirt, in Marks and Spencer.

Skirt, Marks and Spencer Limited Collection // Tee, French Connection // Bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs // Necklace, Zara // Jelly ballet flats, Jimmy Choo (old)

Despite the fact that I don’t feature Marks and Spencer very much, that is mainly because of the online image quality, not because I’m not a staunch supporter of the brand. I wear M&S underwear, love their interiors products and buy several pieces from the Limited and Autograph collections every year. I think this summer has been a bit dry if I’m honest but when I popped in last week I left with three different clothing pieces and 2 sets of underwear. Very happy with myself indeed.

I can see how a skirt like this, all pattern and colour might scare some of you and I say, if in doubt team it with neutrals. I love fresh whites with brights like this – it just feel so summery and I actually wore this last Friday to work with a crisp white shirt (incidentally also an M&S Autograph purchase) with tan and yellow heels.

Of course, me being me, I had an abundance of brights to team it with, but kept the whole look grounded with a simple white T’shirt, tucked in to streamline the look. It dressed the smarter shape of the skirt down and then I picked out and complemented the bright palette with my coral neon edged straw bag and a yellow neon necklace. Perfect for shopping with my sister and an evening cocktail.

Incidentally, the print is also available in a dress if you’re looking for one. Will you be wearing tribal this summer?

Friday Frock O’clock

Yesterday I headed into Manchester city centre to meet my Mum for a spot of shopping. I’d had in mind to purchase a skirt I had seen back in Bath a few weeks ago from Marks and Spencer and also to pick up the polka spot chambray shirt in GAP that I instagrammed from there too. (Anyone who saw and wanted it, it’s gone down to £24.99 in the sale.)

While I was in Marks and Spencer I spotted this dress, which really caught my eye for it’s simplistic yet graphic design.

The nude backdrop gives the dress a cut out look and the whole feel of the dress is much more expensive than it’s £45 price tag. I can really see this going the distance right through from now (It’s a pretty light fabric for warmer evenings,) all the way to Christmas parties and working day to night with ease if you layer up with a jumper on top or a shirt underneath. I know I always go on about items working hard, but when you’re on a budget or saving the pennies I think it’s a really important consideration and a perfect way to make a dress work hard. I don’t believe in saving things for best. At this price there’s no need and if you don’t wear it, you’ll have gone off it in a couple of seasons, so you might as well enjoy it now!

Happy weekend readers!
