Sunday Supplement…

No survey this week folks, but I had some ‘finds‘ to share so thought I’d make a mini-Sunday supplement. Hope you’re all having a relaxing weekend!

Having a real moment over Neon this week, particularly the Cambridge Satchel Company… wish I’d followed through on the lust last season when they were new! This snap is taken from a round up of NYFW bag stalking on Refinery29. It will leave you a most undignified dribbling wreck if you’re a fan of designer arm candy. I promise.

I mentioned Valentines day not just being for couples this week already, but I spotted this great idea over on Glitter Guide last week – a V-Day party for girls. Forget Valentines, the colours and the outfits are gorgeous. Head over and enjoy!

Don’t forget that there’s only this weekend left to enter the Swoon Worthy giveaway – comment here to make your entries!

Speaking of competitions… how would you like to win two nights in Marrakech? Annabel from Love My Dress has a competition on this week in association with The State of Grace to win just that… it looks heavenly. Go enter!

It has been ALL over the twitter feeds and blogs of the fashion world, but I figured not all of you would have seen this acerbic fash-world parody so it was worth posting to provoke undignified snorting. I haven’t observed this kind of thing first hand, (oh to be a fly on the wall at any of the big Fashion Weeks,) but it reminded me so much of various US fashion reality TV stars that I had to share. If you have time, click through to the original part one and part two – I think part one is the funniest!

Spotted: A DIY necklace

Good afternoon readers!

Today I’m sharing a DIY that I gave a little peek to you all of in my monthly round up last week. It’s a project I found over on Glitter Guide – one of my favourite daily reads and just had to get me some of.

I’m a huge fan of a statement necklace, but I have to admit that often when I try them on I feel like they really take over, or are wearing me rather than the other way round. Perhaps the well spaced chain or the clear crystals makes this one easier to wear but I love it!

I do have to confess however, I am a bad bad DIY-er and actually asked my Mum to make this for me. It’s a super easy DIY and I could have done it without much effort. (so don’t be put off!) Not only was I a bit time strapped but my Mum makes jewellery all the time, so it was much easier and she scoped out the best place to find the parts you will need ;)

I always find half the battle with DIY projects like this (particularly from the US,) is that it’s difficult to track down the component parts so I thought I’d include links to what my Mum used to re-create it.

PJ Minerals is the shop she uses (in Ainsdale, Southport, if you happen to be local!) but it has an online store which all the links above are for, and where you can also find the clasps, links and tools to make the necklace – Bead Sales.

I think all in all she estimated it cost about £4 to make, and I think it would make a fantastic gift for your friends this Christmas.

You can find the whole DIY crystal drop necklace tutorial over on Glitter Guide.

Do you like? Would you like to see more DIY on Florence Finds?

Spike The Punch on Etsy.com

There is seriously nothing else to say about these necklaces except I. LOVE.

Spike the Punch on Etsy.com was recently mentioned by Taylor Sterling of Sterling Style and founder of The Glitter Guide (seriously, if you don’t already follow this site, do it now – it’s a must for ladies who love sparkle and colour.) and has since completely sold out – not hard to see why hey?

You can however go and reserve you favourite colour way – there are more in the Etsy shop for delivery as soon as stock is replenished. Did I mention they’re less than £25?

Buy one now or regret it later – I have! (Kudos for guessing which one of the above I bought…)

Love,
Rebecca.
