This weekend Pete and I are going to a summer ball with some friends. I’ve ended up opting for a dress that I’ve had a while but love – a great Ted Baker grey heavy silk maxi with a gorgeous floral print. However, I have had my eyes open for a potentially suitable dress as I have a few parties coming up and a very special hen do. I found today’s MANGO dress on that search and fell for the short and sweet hem line (who doesn’t love flashing those pins?) the flirty back and dreamy floral print in sorbet shades. Another winning feature of course is the ability to conceal a less than perfect tummy, particularly if eating is on the agenda.
Even better, it’s a total steal at £45! Get in quick – there are no 8′s left, but all the other sizes are up for grabs.
I spotted today’s Friday Frock on Pinterest a little while back and knew I had to share it with you all. It just about sums up how I’m feeling right now – bright, fun and a little bit cheeky! The super bright floral manages to take a little of the sweetness off the prom style and I’ve always been a fan of an off the shoulder neckline – it’s insanely flattering and just a little bit flirtatious
I have a summer ball to go to this year and rather than buy a long dress I’m thinking about this one. I can totally see it worn whilst sipping pimms on a sun dappled lawn, then twirling on the dancefloor later. I also love how ASOS have styled it up with of-the-moment perspex bright heels and the chunky diamante necklace – right up my street.
Happy weekend readers! We’re out celebrating with our close friends Jess and Andy who just got engaged (Congratulations guys!) and I can’t wait!
Last week when Friday Frock was a little late in making an appearance, I asked for you guys to step in on twitter and share your Friday finds and lust-have’s. Two of you recommended this dress, which is a bit more retro fabulous that I would usually wear but the print is absolutely gorgeous and I like the different colour ways. (For those of you, like me, who prefer a little less of a retro look, there is a Spring Bloom Flared Dress version, without the shirt front – also a little more formal for occasions.)
Ever a fan of dressing up however, I can totally see this with flat plimsols, a wicker mini cross body bag, cat eye sunglasses and a bicycle, on an english country lane.
Wat do you think ladies – hit or miss for you? Have a great weekend,
Today’s Friday Frock from French Connection is right up my street. In my neutral of choice, navy, with a stunning embellished panel in subtle peach and coral tropical florals, it has added sophistication from the sheer top panel.
I also love that it’s a great one for those of you who like flashing your pins and works equally well for those who are super slim or are feeling less than completely confident about their tummy region. It will hide all manner of mid-section sins whilst you get on with exuding style and confidence
