Triple temptation: Cross Body Bags

I’ve had a real obsession recently with finding the perfect crossbody bag to wear over my parka. Although I can’t complain of being short of handbags in general, I just didn’t have one that quite fitted the winter bill, but fortunately I’ve seen some really cute ones on my travels lately…

Quilted wine leather square bag, & Other Stories £75 // The Cambridge Satchel Co. Clutch £155 // Silver saddle bag, Zatchels £60

I’ve already included this silver one in my Christmas wish list, but I also fell in love with the autumnal folky feeling quilted bag when I spotted it with Michelle in London a couple of weeks ago, (she eventually plumped for this one instead.) Then I saw this cute as a button small clutch with a cross body strap from The Cambridge Satchel Company. I’m so happy they have branched out into other styles but with their signature feel. It look sturdy enough to be worn over a coat every day but in sweet pastel shades that will work year round.

Which is your favourite readers?

Spotted: Reiss Bags with 30% off

This morning I was going to put together a piece on work bags for summer wear, hard working carry-alls that will look chic in the office and just as sweet at the weekend. I got side-tracked however by this fabulous offer at Reiss. For someone who is a huge fan of handbags, (yes, I’d actually take a Mulberry over Louboutins,) it takes a lot to impress me in the bag department, but for the last couple of seasons I’ve been sorely tempted by Reiss and their gorgeous leather goods. The level of detail is fantastic and the look is very luxe. The prices can be a litle more than you might be used to paying, although I always think it’s money well spent in a bag as you use it every single day. Which leads me to my reason for sharing today… there’s 30% on selected bags at www.reissonline.com right now! (All prices below with 30% already removed.)

So here’s my selection for work, or play, in summer appropriate shades.

  1. Let’s start off with my absolute favourite. Strongly remininscent of an Anya Hindmarch design that I regularly lust after and with enough quirk about it to take you from office to bar, yet still be taken seriously in the boardroom. ‘Barney’ striped cream leather and canvas bag – Reiss £157
  2. I couldn’t miss out Reiss’s longstanding classic – The ‘Bleeker’ and it’s not hard to see why, when you clock her timeless lines. Bleeker in ‘natural’ – Reiss £192
  3. I love the slouchy slightly 70’s look to this woven leather bag and the monochrome colours mean it looks super stylish day to day. Fancy it for weekend? You can also pick them up in a very on-trend metallic silver.) ‘Vida’ weave shoulder bag in black and cream – Reiss £185
  4. If you want something casual, for a summer city break perhaps or just in your city this summer, you can’t go wrong with the hard working and hard wearing denim and tan leather detailing on this shopper. ‘Riviera’ large denim shopper – Reiss £136
  5. If you like a shoulder strap or satchel style, this dove grey bag is perfect for wearing for work or the weekend and will be just as good in winter due to its neutral tones. ‘Barton’ light grey satchel – Reiss £174
  6. Couldn’t miss out this luxe-looking quilted purse a great treat for yourself or for a special friends birthday… ‘Gena’ quilted leather wallet – Reiss £62
  7. If you’ve got a summer wedding to attend then how about this clutch? With that gorgeous woven leather again and goes-with-everything cream, it’s a bargain that you’ll use for years to come. ‘Faye’ weave clutch bag – Reiss £118
  8. Ditto this satin pleated clutch in an on-trend cornflower blue which I had to include, simply because it’s Gemma’s favourite colour 🙂 ‘Tiffany’ mid-blue pleat clutch bag – Reiss £55

So, can I tempt you ladies? Do share your favourites!

PS! It’s a three post Thursday!

Spotted: The Mulberry Harriet

I try to be democratic on Florence Finds, and cover clothes for all budgets, but sometimes Florence must imitate life and reflect something I have been coveting beyond all reason, beyond financial sense.

Today, that lust after item is one of my all time favourite brands, Mulberry. Going from strength to strength and even seeing sales rise despite the recession, it’s not hard to see why when they produce such stylish yet classic bags.

Today, I’m sharing my favourite from the recent early collection releases… The Mulberry Harriet bag.

Ok, they’re astronomically expensive, but there are times in life when you need a treat, a windfall perhaps, a work bonus or inheritance, hell even a lottery win. Particularly when the weather is like it has been recently, some online window shopping is most definitely allowed.

I’m not sure I’m 100% on the sludgy green colour, although I imagine it would look fabulous with neutrals, but I am in LOVE with the satchel in navy spongey patent. And could that shade of nude-beige look anymore luxe?

No, I didn’t think so either.

So just close one eye, squint a little and block out the price, then tell me your favourite. Let’s lust after them together…

Rebecca

The Fash Flash – Party Accessories

Erm, Hello!

That’s what you’ll all be thinking when you clap your eyes on the fanciest heels and standout bags in today’s Fash Flash. I was loving putting them together!

Lets get straight on down to it. You’ll see I’ve grouped my top picks by trend today, to make it easier for you to take the ideas away, even if the exact item you want isn’t here. Enjoy!

There seem to be about a million pairs of shoes I could buy just now, but there are some really strong trends that I’ve grouped together here, including a small offering of flats for those of you who just can’t bear the pain of a heel for an all-nighter or are endowed with glamazonian height. 😉

The Shoe Boots: Sheer zebra stripe boot, Topshop, Frill boot – Zara and Simba V-throat shoe boots – Topshop.
The Metallics: Multi-colour glitter heels – Carvela, Garbo Deco Piped Sandal (Emerald green) – Reiss and Showcase Double Platform Peeptoes (Bronze metallic) – Topshop.
The Statement Heel: Saturn Gold heel peeptoes – Reiss, Taupe suede heels with studs, Sam Edleman at My-Wardrobe.com and Strut Metal heel platform shoes (blue velvet) – Topshop.
Party Flats: Glitter pump – Marks & Spencer. Pale pink sparkle ballet flat and silver snake skin flat with ankle strap, both Zara.

Christmas Party Bags

I am a self confessed perfectionist when it comes to bags – they are my ‘thing’. Therefore I either buy cheap throw away high street fashion or splurge on super expensive keep-forever pieces. That said, I’d take a couple of these high street offerings over a more expensive one, particularly the puma clutch. Make yours a hard case box bag, massive envelope for statement style, or a shimmering accent to a block colour dress.

Box Bags: Reiss octagonal ‘Comet’ clutch bag, Velvet Frame clutch bag – Topshop and Snake hardcase Puma clutch bag – Accessorize.
Glitter Bags:Jane at the Disco cross body bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs at My-Wardrobe.com. Gold Sequinned wallet and Aztec Sequin wallet – Zara.
Oversized Envelopes: Contrast piping clutch – Accessorize,
Humbug clutch (green zip front) Kurt Geiger and Pink Suede envelope clutch – Accessorize.

Did I not tell you you would love them?

Share your pleasure at the pretty ladies 😉

Love,
Rebecca
