Inspiration to Reality: Beach Chic

This afternoon, I’m introducing a new feature to you readers, something I’ve had in mind for a while, but it’s not something that I have ever got around to doing. I realised when I was on holiday that I truly do see inspiration all around me. It’s like writing Florence Finds has woken up my creative senses. However, I realise that when it’s not something you’re totally immersed and engaged with, translating a look you see in real life or on line isn’t always the easiest thing to do. I’ve decided to take a single snapshot image of a room or garden and give you the actual items to create the look in your real life.

This week, after sharing The Gallivant hotel yesterday and being so inspired by their grown-up and chic take on nautical beach chic, I thought that made a good starting point.

Do let me know if there’s anything you would like to see ‘brought to life’! I have a few more up my sleeve, inspired by my travels and finds over the last few months, both indoor and outdoors. 🙂

Love,
Rebecca

A Chi Chi [Beach] Affair…

Good morning readers! Today Pete and I are making the trip from Death Valley to Las Vegas and our final stop, Encore at the Wynn hotel. It’s getting hot hot hot and I am looking forward to nothing more than getting into my bikini and hitting the pool for some R&R, cocktail in hand. It’s great timing then that this morning we have the queen of vacation style, Rachie from A Chi Chi Affair, popping in to give you some style tips and ideas on beach or poolside looks you can rock this summer as the temperatures hopefully rise. Thanks Rachie!

Friday Frock O’clock

All I’m thinking about right now is my holiday so when I stumbled across this Seafolly dress I fell in love. I have to admit, I NEVER spend a lot on Summer clothes, you get to wear them so little and when you do, they get ruined by sea water, pool water or suncream.

Seafolly Coral gladiator maxi dress – £99 My-Wardrobe.com

If you’re a little more confident that you can take care of them however, this could be the perfect reason to invest in a stunning beach to bar dress like this one. With care, you’ll still be wearing this in years. It’ll look equally good with heels and chunky jewellery in the bar as flip flops on the beach, or in the city for that matter sight-seeing. The colour is perfect with a tan and I love the way it has been styled here with flats and a raffia bag. It’s probably the top end of what I’d stretch to price wise, but I can see it having great longevity and being 100% worth it!

Have you started thinking about holiday dresses yet?

Love,
Rebecca
