Five on Friday…

Check out this amazing kitchen make-over, with a few simple steps to update what they already had – clever! I love the yellow stools.

How to turn an IKEA bookshelf into a storage bench – great idea for a playroom or family room.

Love the calm simplicity of the bedroom.

I met up with friends yesterday and one of them was wearing this cardigan – it looked fab and such a bargain for £23!

I’m really focusing on the house again now we are back and just need to zone in on where we should start… This moody dining room is fabulous for the darker days ahead.

Happy Friday readers 🙂

Save V Splurge: Work Flats

I am in desperate need of new work shoes and fell in love with these Boden pointed toe flats. They are smart, sleek and a little bit sexy with the addition of animal print. Oh and they’re £125. *gulp* Even as my every day shoe, (and I’m a big believer in cost-per-wear) there are so many other things I’d rather spend my money on right now…

So I was pretty pleased to spot these Clarks Pointed flats over the weekend. They’re very similar, well made and have a lovely cushy sole. And they’re £55. Win – win!

What do you think readers? Save or splurge?

Rebecca

PS! There’s 20% off at Boden until tomorrow (Thursday) if you fell in love with the spendy option and want to soften the blow. 😉

September Shape Up.

It’s not the usual time of year for it, but because of the promise of a new season, new clothes and a bit of serendipity too, I’m ready to make some effort finally to get into shape.

I’ve got more to wrote about post natal fitness and losing weight but for now as it’s the first and we have a month before our holiday and I am dying to buy new clothes but have promised myself I won’t before I lose the last bit of weight I want to, I’m setting myself some challenges. I’m keeping it simple and making it achievable and because it’s only a month, hopefully it can be measured by the end of the month before Ive forgotten about it.

I wondered if any of you would like to join me? It doesn’t have to be a fitness goal. Maybe you need to shape up your filing cabinet, wardrobe, garden shed, living room, your CV or diet. Write it down int he comments and give yourself 30 days to accomplish it. Maybe you need a treat as a reward too 😉

My goal is to…

~ Do some aerobic exercise 3 times a week
~ Do some floor stomach exercises every other day

What’s your goal this month?

Rebecca

Triple Temptation: Boden Coats

Sienna (stripe) coat // (Mint) Pea Coat // Cape

For the first time in what feels like forever, I am REALLY excited about he coming seasons clothes. I think it’s a combination of not being in maternity clothes/post natal and the fact that the summer has been so poor I almost feel like just moving onto crisp autumn days and cosy sweaters for chilly weather, but either way, I’m desperate to start shopping!

As it’s no capsule time yet, I’m trying to control myself, but instead I’m preparing – scouring ally he new collections and deciding what I want and then what will all work together as a great capsule. What I may have to make an exception for is a coat. ever one knows the best ones go early and this year I’m int he market for a new one. Boden’s new catalogue is fab but the coats and accessories are the standouts for me and although I don’t think these pictures do them justice, the options are brilliant. This cape is waaaay more vibrant than the stock image and the Peacoat I’d choose in Navy. Theres also a couple of amazing coatigans.

Have you got your eye son a new coat? I have no doubt Erin will have some amazing options to share soon too!

Love,
Rebecca
