Spotted: AllSaints AW12

Usually as the first few months of the new fashion season progress, I would be writing round ups and reviews of brands and stores that are inspiring me. This year you may have noticed the absence of shopping round ups, but the truth is I really haven’t been that inspired by whole collections, instead picking and choosing from different stores.

That was until I fell in love with a necklace in AllSaints and ended up stalking the website. I signed up to their email alerts and every one that dropped into my inbox had me lusting after a new purchase. I hold my hands up, I haven’t bought anything from AllSaints in years, feeling it was often of dubious workmanship, overpriced and unsuited to my tastes but since looking again recently I really feel that has changed.

The bad news is the price hasn’t changed. These are still big ticket luxury items for the average person but the quality is now directly proportional. I’ve seen incredibly stylish outerwear (a couple of military inspired coats,) lovely ankle boots both for smart and casual wear, covetable accessories in leather with embellishment and lots of chic leather pieces. I thought I would feature a round up of my most lusted-after items and see what your thoughts were. I’ve arranged them roughly into outfits although a lot will mix and match and I’m rather hoping Santa might be reading this – I’ll take the lot pretty please 😉

When did you last look at AllSaints and have I made you look again?

Friday Frock O’clock

I spotted todays dress whilst out shopping with my Mum and Sister yesterday, in AllSaints. The reason for choosing it for this weeks frock is that it bears a striking resemblance to a McQ by McQueen dress that I lusted after last summer but was way out of my budget. If you’re still loving digital prints then this is a good alternative and the capped sleeves with bubble skirt give the dress a strong shape guaranteed to make you feel fierce.

I spotted the blue version and still prefer it, but the orangy-red tones of the other print are certainly season appropriate.

This is the 50th Friday Frock I have posted on Florence Finds, so do share any frocks you have purchased or are lusting after this week – something celebratory perhaps 🙂

Friday Frock O’clock

I’ve always thought that people who go for a tough look in their fashion tastes are trying to cover something up… some insecurity or self doubt that studs and biker boots might cure. That said, there’s always a day when we need a little extra armoury against the world, like fashionable cotton wool to protect ourselves against life’s daily stresses.

One of those items that everybody needs in their armoury is a little black dress and whether you’ve got a bit of a cold and have to attend an event, or you’re feeling mentally under the weather this is the dress that will have you looking fierce and fabulous, whatever is on the inside.

Being black of course it will be flattering (and I even suspect this is a transitional dress that would work equally well in pregnancy or in the months following having a baby,) being knee length and suitably covered up across an expanding chest area. Ok, it’s not the most summery of dresses but you could make it more seasonal with a nude jacket and shoes or work a monochrome look for an event. More importantly, it gave me a good excuse to highlight the AllSaints sale which has now started and to whip up a bit of a kick-ass outfit, in case you should be requiring one. I have totally got my eye on that necklace.

There’s a few other sales that have started late, notably Monsoon, Accessorize, Zara, MANGO and The White Company.

Happy shopping this weekend readers and do share what you have bought on the Florence Finds facebook page, Tweet me @FlorenceFinds, or pop on here and leave a comment.
