The warmer weather towards the end of this week has really turned my attention towards cooler dressing and for the first time in a long time, I thought of a maxi dress. Once a style staple there seems to have been a bit of an absence of maxi’s in stores recently, or maybe I haven’t looked because I’ve been tired of them. Today I really wanted to find one that worked for stylish and casual occasions, perhaps even work. You know how I love a one-dress-does-it-all situation!
Reiss Athena Dress – £117 (down from £235)
Todays dress is from Reiss, in inky black and off white with a really unusual pattern, a not quite maxi, midi hem line and a really flattering silhouette. I love the slight rise and fall hem and it feels modern whilst also being classic enough for a formal occasion. It would work as easily at work with a blazer as at a summer function.
And if I was wearing it, I’d be feeling fierce, but also doing some obligatory twirling

Quite often, I really um and ah about whether to include a particular frock, or indeed image for any other post if the models are a. unhealthily thin, or b. the image doesn’t portray the item well (hello, M&S I’m talking to you!) God quality images are what keep FF looking professional. I decided to go ahead anyway with this as it’s such a lovely dress and unusual.

I love the length. I have leg issues so it’s perfect. Just a shame i also have a temporary bump issue!
Not sure if I could wear this length but need to find something for a mid September wedding and really dont want to buy something I wont wear again! Might have to try this one on… xx
