Christmas Contributions Plea!

Just a quick re-post to invite you to take part in Florence Finds next week. It’s now December the 4th, the Christmas countdown is on, and I’m thinking decorations!

Lots of people will be putting up their Christmas decorations this weekend (me included!) and I will be doing a round up of Christmas themes over the coming weeks. I would love to share some reader Christmas homes as a part of that.

So here’s what I need from you guys…

A picture of your Christmas decorations. It could be your tree or a smaller area of your home that you think looks particularly stylish – Think fireplace, perhaps your front door with a wreath on, maybe you set up a nativity corner for the kids, or make a little display in another corner. Or you can send a collection of images.

The images need to be 600px wide minimum (most digital cameras take them way wider than this so don’t worry too much) and the best quality possible. If you want some tips on how to take good pictures of things like your tree and light festooned houses… have a look at this Christmas Photos tutorial. And if you would like to, you can include a little bit about the inspiration/choice of decor. Any link you have for the decorations (recent ones that people can buy) would be great too, but isn’t essential.

And that’s it! Please don’t feel intimidated by this, I’m really excited to get everyone involved – I LOVE going to peoples houses at christmas and seeing how they decorate, so I’d love to share yours. Please note that in the event of me receiving many submissions I may not be able to post them all.

Get snapping and send your in to hello@florencefinds.com with the subject box marked ‘Christmas Decor’.

Love,
Rebecca

  1. Looking forward to seeing the pictures! Our tree goes up on the 9th and have splashed out only lots of baubles from the White Company as its our first Christmas in our first “proper” house (so can appropriate this mornings post about decorating and dust…).

  2. Arrrgh, we’re away this weekend so decs not going up until next week and I have SO many plans – hoping to make stockings and a table runner if I can find the right fabric this afternoon! Also have to try and sneak the new (despite being banned) baubles into the box when it comes down from the attic so hubby doesn’t notice 😉

So excited about hosting Christmas for the first time this year, want to make the flat a proper winter wonderland for the in laws and each of our brothers! Much to hubby’s dismay as he likes simplicity!

Can’t wait to see what everyone else is doing!

  3. Just a note to everyone – as not everyone will be putting the tree up this weekend (I might not myself actually after the chaos of this week!) I’m going to run these posts all the way up to Christmas so please send them in even if it’s after this weekend 🙂

Cant wait to see all your Christmas decs!

  4. Oh how I long to be putting up christmas decs! We’re currently in the middle of a mammoth bit of building work. Original load bearing walls having been coming down, our entire downstairs is in our living room and there is more dust than I have ever seen over everything. We may, if santa says we’ve been very good, be done just before Xmas so we may be able to get a last gasp tree.

’till then I’ll have to just enjoy our advent calendars…now where are they?????

  5. Love this! Just back from my annual girlie trip to the various Christmas markets of Europe searching for this year’s new decoration. Now I can’t wait to get my deccies up! 🙂 Also, I get to eat three advent calendar choccies in one go…. Score!!

  6. Oh my goodness – I was just scouring google images for a picture of a cat and xmas tree and the ONLY one I liked and clicked on led me back here, to one of my fav blogs! Weird. I won’t use the lovely image though. Gogeous cat you’ve got there Rebecca! x
