Hello readers!
Since the inception of Florence Finds I’ve been asked about a launch party, a meet up, or even just an informal gathering of all the wonderful, creative, intelligent and generally fabulous women who read every day.
And I have stalled.
You see, there’s nothing like meeting your readers. It’s one of the very best parts of blogging, and in fact bringing those like-minded ladies together. But I need to do this properly. It may well turn into an unofficial late launch party if the demand is there, or there may just be ten of us having a grand old time somewhere suitably fancy.
What I can promise is that there will be cake. And lots of it.
I’m going to give you a brief outline of my plan and then I’d like anybody who is interested to sign up below (make sure you have a valid email address when you leave the comment as that’s how we’ll be contacting you.) Once I have a better idea of numbers then I can work out a venue and date.
The Details:
- The meet up will be in London, with another to follow in Manchester at a later date. Venue tbc but will be central.
- The event will be afternoon tea, somewhere licensed, with the option to go on afterwards elsewhere
- I’m looking at a Saturday afternoon and will aim to give you all 3-4 weeks notice.
- Obviously, as much as I would love to, I can’t shout you all afternoon tea, so there will be a ticketing process, in which you will have to purchase your ticket directly from the venue.
- It would be really helpful if you could give an indication of how much you would be happy to pay for a standard afternoon tea in your comment below, cocktails and fizz will be optional extras at your discretion.
This is not an industry networking event – just an opportunity for like-minded women to get together and also for me to meet you all! That said, if you have a blog and wish to bring cards and network, I’m not going to stop you.
Ok, so get commenting – I can’t wait to meet you all and catch up with those of you I already know!
Very Excited Love,
Rebecca
xo
PS. Expressions of interest below are for the London or Manchester meet ups – please specify which you are interested in!
PPS: Can you imagine the Friday Frock?
I’ll be at the London meet- up with bells on. Don’t mind how much we pay. Woo. Anna xx
I’ll be at the London one and will come to Manchester too! xx
I’d love to come along to the London meet-up, and don’t mind how much we pay.
I would love to join you at the London meet! xxx
I would love to come along to the London meet-up – it might be dependent on which Saturday it is but please put me on the list and I will let you know when we have more details
Very exciting! xx
Yes would love to meet up and make friends and eat cake – please add me to the invite list!
info@naomikenton.co.uk
Don’t mind how much the food is, happy to pay anything for a nice afternoon tea – but I guess around £10-£20 per person would be about right? xx
my weekends are almost all filled up until late September (there goes my NYR to spend more down time at home!!) but diary permitting, I’m all over the London one like beans on toast!
Would love to come to either (as am Leeds-based), London may make more sense so I could have a drink and get the train!
Don’t mind how much we pay either!
xoxo
A London meet-up sounds like lots of fun…count me in!
I’m there, and Fran too I’m sure. We’ll be representing the Manchester branch of Florence
xx
ohhhh definitely up for a london meet-up! I guess I’d be up for about £20 for afternoon tea though i realise the fancy hotel ones tend to be quite a bit more.
Looking forward to it!
Keen as mustard for London! Don’t mind how much as long as there is the option for fizz and cocktails
What a fab idea! London sounds great!! I’d LOVE to come and meet up! It sounds far too good to miss!
Sarahx
Count me in for London please!
Yes to the London meet up. You should check out bake-a-boo (which has a private space and are super flexible) or there’s one in Highgate I can’t remember (Alexandra’s or something?). Both kitsch. Or ummm…there’s Beas of Bloomsbury which is reasonably priced. There is also…OMG OMG….London’s best coffee shop called Habberdashery in Crouch End. They do the BEST afternoon tea and you can hire the venue into the evening too but you get there by Overland to Hornsey. It is FABULOUS. I wouldn’t recommend somewhere uber Posh as it’s always difficult having a proper chat. Saying that….Fashionista Tea at the Berkley is fabulous and the cakes are the highlight of the season (but its about £40 a person).
You have my email address if you need me to do anything x
I’d be in for London, don’t really mind price wise within reason!
I’d be up for the London option, never could resist the offer of cake and champagne
Yesyesyesyesyes please!!! Having just recently moved to London am DYING to meet more people here (especially lovely people like FF readers!) and also discover cool places for afternoon tea (which I’m sure is what you’ll pick!) Can I please beg for NOT March 24th please? (tickets for War Horse which I’ve been dying to see forever!) Other than that I’m there with bells on and will pay whatever.
A x
War Horse is fantastic!! I took my Mum and sister to see it for Christmas (obviously I had to accompany them…) and it was wonderful – I’m sure you’ll enjoy it
second that – It was amazing!!!
Third that! Although I did cry rather alot…
Aw thanks girls, am so looking forward to it!
I’m definitely in and looking forward to meeting everyone! I would recommend The Soho for afternoon tea – they have a lovely lounge which is a nice space for afternoon tea and cocktails! xx
Diary permitting, yes to the London one please!
Katie x
Ooh yes to the London meet up. Don’t mind how much. I second Bea’s of Bloomsbury I had my hen party at the Theobolds Rd one. We had it all to ourselves as after 5pm & provided our own fizz, music & flowers. Well done for arranging looking forward to it.
Yes! to London one please. Don’t mind about price.
x
YES PLEASE!!!
London one aswell for me. Excited & nervous already!
Eeepppp
PS: Have only had afternoon tea at the Dorchester with work which was lovely but wouldn’t recommend for a girly meet. Everyone raves about Wolseley, they do a champagne tea for £29.75 per head x
Have been to the Wolseley for afternoon tea… was fabulous, and I thought reasonably priced espesh for London!
xoxo
I’d love to do a London meet up – sounds like a great idea! Don’t mind what the price is x
I’ll be there! I’d be up for the London meet up, and £20 – £30 for afternoon tea would be my price range. I think this is a great idea
Yes! to London – as long as there’s a gluten-free option
Having said that I’m equally happy to drink my money’s worth in champagne instead. Yep, I’ll be the drunk one in the corner then…
Ooh yes to the Manchester one please! Although a bit nervous…it seems you guys already know each other already. I’m not a blogger, just a reader here so I dont know anyone!
I’m also a reader. I remember being SUPER nervous about my first **blog event** and was like I’d known everyone for years.
8? or is that 9? I am a bit scared too! Glad there are other nonbloggers who feel a bit nervous, I would love to join you in Manchester, if I get over the nerves!
Im also just a reader and dont know anyone!
Me too!
Me five! Maybe all of us lonely readers should plan to arrive together en masse…
Make that six! Xx
7! Would love a Manchester meet up.
Thanks girls you’ve made me feel much less nervous! Like the sound of the en masse arrival!!
I’d love to come to the London one, not too bothered about price. Glad there’ll be lots of us who don’t know each other – looking forward to meeting you all xx rhiannahitchman@hotmail.com
I would love to go to the Manchester one! Im not too bothered about price either and guess £20-30 would be about right?
Yaaay! I would love to come along. Count me in for the London bash! x
PS: Don’t mind about the price!
PPS: I REALLY don’t know anyone so may be slightly bashful!
Such a good idea! London for me please, don’t mind about price. And I don’t know anyone either…
It’s a definite YES for the Manchester bash-I am Cheshire based so might struggle with London (as a lot of my weekends or part of my weekends are already booked up).
I don’t mind where we meet-but champagne/cakes/afternoon tea etc sounds like the perfect combination
P.S. I’m also just a Reader/avid fan of FF-I don’t know anyone either!!!
Would love to come to the London one! Am also a little nervous about it as I’m also “only” a reader and am grateful I’m not the only one!
I’m good for either!! Or both…
Can’t wait to meet everyone!! xxx
Sounds great – count me in for the London one (date depending, of course!).
Never need an excuse for afternoon tea and a natter, but this is a pretty good one!
x
Leeds-London trains get crazy expensive unless you book well in advance, but I am DEFINITELY in for Manchester!
Px
Oooo count me in! Either London or Manchester, I’m North east based so either will be as good for me. Don’t mind how much we pay xxx
I’m North East based too!!!
*waves*
Hello!! Xx
Yay! Manchester for me please, don’t mind what price. X
I’m up in Scotland so not depends on train prices, maybe we could do a convoy to Manchester??
Hi Linsey *waves* I’m in Scotland too
Would love to come to both but London one is probably a bit far away x
I would be up for that. I’m Edinburgh – would love to go but will depend on date and travel costs
Obvs a Mncr meet up gets 2 thumbs up from me, though if im available for the London one I’d L-O-V-E to come.
xoxo
Ps. Cake rules!
Oooh yes please for the London one! If I’m free that weekend, would love to join you!! x
Me too for a Manchester meet up and I’m another shy reader/lurker.
Sounds like a fab idea
Hehe lurker love!! x
I’d love to come to the London one (providing it’s not my on call week).
I’m just a reader too and don’t know anyone else.
Don’t mind about cost.
Me too! Although I don’t drink tea…or coffee…so as long as there’s hot chocolate then I’ll be ok
I also don’t know a single person as I can’t reply on this blog from the phone which I read it from so don’t often join in. So I have had to log on especially tonight as didn’t want to miss this!x x x
Either will be fine for me. Obviously depends on on call rota! Any price fine also
X
I’d love to come and I’ve heard good things about Drink, Shop, Do in Kings Cross.
I don’t know anyone either but really hope can’t wait to meet everyone
Totes up for the Manchester one! x
I like the sound of a London meet up! (I’m another only-a-reader!) x
I would love to come to the London meet up!
I’m another reader who won’t know anyone, so look forward to meeting you all!
x
Oooh Manchester please – if there’s cake, I’m there!
I would love to come to the london meet up.
Such a good idea, would be lovely to meet some new like-minded people and eat cake! London for me, £20-£30 would be great. x
Hi Bec,
I’d love to come to… Both! I live in London but I’d bring Kate along to the Manchester one if we were both free.
Usually you can find a good afternoon tea offer for around £30 especially if you promise a decent (well-dressed natch) crowd!
Really looking forward to it as a reader who’s not shy and therefore will speak to anyone and a (very) nascent blogger!
Can.not.wait! Xx
London for me, please (date dependent). Would pay up to £25 ish for something fabulous – the company would be worth it I’m sure.
xx
Would love to come to the London one – so pleased there are lots of other readers saying they don’t know anyone else, that makes me feel a tiny bit less nervous! Already really looking forward to it. Don’t mind about the cost xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I would also love to come to the meet up – diary permitting! I’m also a lurker who doesn’t know anyone!! x
I also forgot to add I’ve love to come to the London meet-up please!
Would love to join Manchester meet up. Doubtful I can afford London meet up.
xx
I’d be up for the London one, and would be going solo too. Strength in numbers, ladies! Have also heard good things of Drink, Shop, Do (plus know a lovely pub just round the corner!), Soho Secret Tea Rooms, and had my hen at High Tea in Highgate which is great but not all that well connected for non-Londoners.
I’d almost deffo go to the Manchester one!
xx
Oh! Tea and cake and good conversation… DEFINITELY interested in this! I’m in London
K x
Count me in for Manchester, bump/baby permitting! X
Diary permitting it would be a great event to come along to! In case you needed any extra venues to add to the mix, Beas at Bloomsbury is great for afternoon tea, £15 per person usually but I’d imagine they’d have an event price.
Laura x
Manchester would be closer for me but happy to travel to London too – depends on the dates for them so count me in for either (or maybe even both??!)
Bex
x
London for me! Excited!! xx
I’d be up for the London one and am another non-blogger!
I missed the RMW meet up so it will be nice to actually come to one!
xoxo
Oooo yes please for the London one, it’s always lovely to meet other like-minded ladies, especially over cake and champagne! x
Awh ive just been catching up on my weeks reading! this sounds like an excellent idea, London would be great fo me !
Only just catching up but deffo count me in for a Manchester meet up! In terms of cost, £20-£30 sounds about right to me too
Oooh yes, the nerves will set in an hour before – might have to hit the cocktails before the teacakes… hmmm.
xxx
Fabulous idea count me in, pref Manchester but if I’m in London around then may just do both because I’m greedy like that!! xx
Lovely idea x count me in provisionally for London
and if gluten-free is available I’m there with bells on. Also agreed with other reader that can, when asked politel, drink my moneys worth of champers x
Oooooo I’d def like to come to a London meet-up! And I agree, about £20 – £30 sounds a good price…
Hi Girls
Hope we are not too late to come to the party. My friend and I have just discovered Florence and we’d love to come. London please, price…we’re easy peasy! x
Another latecomer – I’d definitely be interested in a London meet up. It sounds like a fantastic plan! Jx
Woops, I think I might be a little late to this, but would love to attend the Manchester one!:)
