A Pinning Problem…

I’ve recently developed a problem, I’m addicted to Pinterest. It’s not a new thing, I’ve been pinning for 18 months now, but I just can’t stop!

Are you on Pinterest? If not, do you know what it is? If you’ve been pinning for ages, don’t mind me, but if not then you have to check it out.

Pinterest is like a virtual online scrapbook. You create ‘boards’ or groups of images, give them titles and add your images to it. It’s perfect for collecting ideas and inspiration, for a new decorating project for example. You can upload images you have taken or images from around the internet.

As well as your own images, you can also re-pin other peoples images. Just like on Facebook or Twitter you can follow your friends and celebrities, designers, bloggers and tastemakers. All of the pins from the people you follow show up on your wall and you can then re-pin them to your boards if you like them. I even use it to keep a note of things I want to read later, or just collect pretty images.

You can create a Pinterest account here and see my pin boards here.

Come and pin with me! 🙂

  1. I’m a bit of a haphazard ‘pinner’, dipping in and out every now and then, but I love it for a bit of inspiration/pretty when I’m feeling in need of a few calm minutes or looking for tips on say, dressing a table for Christmas Dinner. I don’t have a creative bone in my body so it can be quite useful for me!

  2. Love it and the iphone 5 and the pinterest app makes it so easy I can pin on the commute! Thanks for following me! I love it for Christmas inspiration and interiors and recipes. Oh and I like looking at my friends boards to get ideas of what to buy them for Christmas!! xx

  3. He he, I too am a pinterest addict, also have been following your boards and noticed you have been an avid pinner recently, please follow me back!! Also when is your next dream find do worksop coming – I want to attend this one (P.S if its down south say in Cardiff or Bristol I would give you extra brownie points) xx

  4. I’m another Pinterest addict. I’ve only recently got an account and use it mainly for wedding things, but also food, interiors and fashion. It’s currently my favourite way to waste a couple of hours when I should be cleaning the flat/working/dealing with admin!! xxx

  5. I too love Pinterest! It’s a recent addition for me but already I’m loving it for interior ideas for our potential new house 😀

  6. Think I would need to join Pinterest Annoymous! I’m really not quite sure what makes it so addictive?! Looking at lots of pretty things and daydreaming about them being yours perhaps?

I love it most for style and photography inspiration. On occassion if I get a bit stuck with what to wear in the mornings I consult my ‘My Style’ board for inspiration as usually I pin things that I already own. Step too far or what it’s totally meant for??

  7. I’m a Pinterest addict too. Seriously just can’t get enough of it. We are in the process of buying a new house, so my boards all reflect future plans. Oh and my wedding board is a guilty pleasure, being that I’m already married.
Laura I pin things I own too, especially home stuff. I find it helps me keep a consistent style. I don’t think it’s a step too far, it’s easier looking at a picture than trying to remember exactly what something looks like and matching new stuff to it.
